Tuesday 12th November - Roy Killen

The topic will be “Meeting the Challenges of Nature Photography”. It will explore a range of techniques for improving your nature photography, both in the field and when processing nature images. It will simplify the challenge of working within the constraints of the PSA/FIAP Nature Photography definition.

Roy’s main interest is nature and wildlife photography. He has been competing in international exhibitions since 2008 and have received more than 6000 acceptances and more than 400 awards. Through these competitions he has gained the following photographic distinctions:

  • EFIAP (Excellence award, International Federation of Photographic Arts)
  • GMPSA (Grand Masters award, Photographic Society of America)
  • GMAPS (Grand Masters award, Australian Photographic Society)
  • APSEM (Australian Photographic Society Exhibitors Medal)

In 2015 he was awarded the Nature Medallion by the Australian Photographic Society for his contributions to Nature photography.

Roy regularly judges competitions at club, national and international levels and frequently present workshops for photography clubs on photographic techniques and image processing.

Roy is a member of the Belmont 16s Photography Club and he is the Membership Vice President of the Photographic Society of America (PSA).
